Parents, Legal Guardians, Grandparents, and Alumni are always welcome to help with events, fundraising and other actives. But to be a volunteer in LISD you must complete a background check:
  • School volunteers are a key part of a successful school and the LISD encourages public involvement at all levels of the District. LISD Board Policy requires that every volunteer undergo a background check before being allowed to work on a site.

 

  • LISD School Board Policy: “The District shall obtain criminal history record information on persons the District intends to employ and on persons who … intend to serve as volunteers for district campuses.” All volunteers at Lewisville ISD campuses must complete a criminal history background check, online, at the LISD website.
 
  • How often does the District require a Criminal History Check to be run? Volunteer applications will remain active for 1 years from the application date. A volunteer must reapply every 1 years in order to be considered for volunteer approval. If there is information or a question about a criminal history, the District will run a new background prior to the renewal.
